Whee! Okay, to start with, the line that I was trying to find you that Dumbledore said, relating to how the pain George must be feeling was a bigger blow than the death of Fred;
"Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and above all, those that live without love."
Now, to your post. You and I will never, ever, agree on Ron. It's just not going to happen. I cannot have the feelings you have towards him, and you will never be able to love him as much as I do. The man is a legend, he is a absolute legend and he is real. He got scared, he freaked out - But as Harry put it, Dumbledore didn't know Ron would leave, he knew that Ron would always want to come back.
And, I beat you on the crying. I am quite proud of that. Only three times for me. Well, possibly five, but three of them were over the same thing!
Dobby. I cried when Dobby died, I cried at Dobbys funeral, I cried that Dobby was a free elf, I cried for Dobby and I had to put the book down for about ten minutes to compose myself. Luckily, this was about midnight, so there was no one around to witness this.
Then, naturally, I cried at the death of Fred, and when Harry used the resurrection stone.
Thats my five, isn't it? Guess I lied, because I also cried at Snapes memories of Lily, of his amazing gift to Harry, and there may.. may possibly have been a tiny tear when he died.
And then when Tonks and Lupin died.
I spent most of the book crying, didn't do much better than you.
I don't like Hermione.
Neville, oh my. I love you, my brave, brave hero. About the sword, technically, no matter what the Gobly gook says, that sword belongs to Godric. Therefore, only a true Gryffindor can possess the sword, right? Neville stood there, couragous, displaying a bravery that he'd never shown before - and he's shown a lot, and when that hat came off his head, it gave it to him, because he was a hero, because he deserved it, because he followed in Harrys footsteps no matter the consequences, and Neville Longbottom is damn well a true Gryffindor.
